Paulina

OUR GOODMAN FAMILY

Meet Paulina, one of our co-general managers at Goodman Mayfair.

Paulina is Co-General Manager at Goodman Mayfair. At school she liked English and exercising, if you’re heading to the bar, perhaps an Apple Martini? And if you’re getting the crisps in too, she’ll keep it old school with simple and salted… If eating at Goodman, she’ll order the oysters, the USDA fillet AND a bone-in ribeye, chips and creamed spinach because, as she says, “you don’t come here for a salad.”

“I’d been living in Plymouth but, after two years, I decided it was too small and moved to London. I worked in Chelsea for a while then, in 2013, a friend was working at Goodman, so I moved and started working at Canary Wharf as a waitress. I moved up over the years and am now a co-general manager at Mayfair. I love the team here…

Paulina has been part of the Goodman family since 2013, starting out at Canary What and slowly moving her way up.

What I love about Goodman is the amazing relationships you have with people. The customers keep you going, that loyalty, that support. So many have been here for years with us. We create friendships here, and not many restaurants have that.

The last few years have been tough, and we’ve had to rebuild the team. It makes you realise that personality is the most important thing. The experience we can teach you, but the personality you bring? That’s what makes Goodman special. You don’t just come here to do a job, but it’s not stressful. There are responsibilities, of course, but it’s not stressful. And getting new customers, new regulars, being able to bring them back by chatting to them? It’s pretty cool.”
