Lenka
OUR GOODMAN FAMILY
Meet Lenka, our reservations supervisor who has been part of the Goodman Family for five years.
Lenka has been part of the Goodman family for a few years now. If you’re buying the snacks, she’ll take something savoury, probably Salt & Vinegar crisps… and will then, probably, make you watch Twilight.
Moving from Slovakia to London when she was 19, Goodman’s reservations supervisor Lenka found herself in hospitality “kind of accidentally” but clearly enjoys it: “hospitality is the only job I've ever really had,” she admits, “and I’ve worked many different positions across front of the house.”
She first came across Goodman when working at a restaurant next door. “If we had some drinks after work, we would always run into people from Goodman so I was very aware of them. After COVID, I was between jobs, remembered Goodman and I’ve been here since.
Lenka started off as a host at City and slowly worked her way up to work in reservations.
Lenka is also a regular diner and, like so many others in the Goodman family, will start with Prawn Tempura – “it has to be!” – and, possibly, the Tuna Tartare. “And then I would order a massive bone-in ribeye, probably one of the UK cuts, with Josper onions.” As for dessert, again like many of us, she’s frequently too full – “it’s a shame because the desserts are fantastic” – but, if she can face it, the Tiramisu tops that list. And to drink, Lenka enjoys wine, beer, loves a good cocktail but “sambuca is where I draw the line.”
When not at Goodman, you can generally find Lenka walking her dog. Or, possibly more accurately, forcing her dog to join her. “He’s a greyhound, an ex-racer,” explains Lenka. “He’s just very big and lazy.”
