Gosia
OUR GOODMAN FAMILY
Meet Gosia, our General Manager at Goodman City and a long standing member of the Goodman family.
Goodman City’s GM Gosia has been part of the Goodman family since 2013. She believes – correctly – that the Prawn Tempura and Tuna Tartare are a given rather than starter options, that mac and cheese is also a must and, if you’re heading to the shop, she’d love a Kinder Bueno, thank you.
Did Goodman find Gosia, or did Gosia find Goodman? While it’s possibly a little of both, it’s certainly a pairing that feels like fate. “I moved to England from Poland on the 13th of May 2013,” says Gosia. “And from the 17th May, I was working for Goodman.”
New to hospitality, Gosia started as runner at Goodman Canary Wharf and, by her own admission, “fell in love with the people, the sense of community.” After a little maternity break, she became a waitress, then assistant manager. Moving to City in 2024, she became assistant general manager in January 2025. “And then from May,” says Gosia, gesturing around Goodman City and smiling, “I'm running this place as a GM.”
Gosia has been part of the Goodman family since 2013, where she started working as a runner at Canary Wharf and slowly moved her way up.
We often use the term “The Goodman Family” and Gosia thinks it’s a good description. “Absolutely,” she agrees. “Sometimes it’s a dysfunctional family, of course, but it’s a good family. And it’s all of us: the guests, the waiters, the chefs, the managers. I think that’s what makes the Goodman special, the relationships we're building between ourselves and with the guests. And it’s nice.”
Of course, it’s also the food. “I love the US meat,” says Gosia. “The bone-in USDA sirloin, that’s the choice. Or if I want something lighter, then the Irish fillet.” Sorry, the lighter option?! Gosia laughs. “It’s fillet, that is a lighter option…”
Alongside that, a glass of Amarone Latium– “it’s my favourite wine” – although a Margarita will also feature; a given, like the above-mentioned starters (“they’re Goodman signatures”) and truffled side. And to finish? “Tiramisu. The Sundae. An Espresso Martini.”
Outside of Goodman, life for Gosia revolves very much around family – “I have four kids, all daughters. And two cats, and a dog, also all female. Surrounded by women!” – and, when she can, getting out of the city. “I love nature in general, the sea. Coast walks, Dover, I love all the places there, and we’re slowly exploring Cornwall.”
It is, Gosia admits, all a long way from life in Krakow.
“We first moved to London because lots of our friends moved here. It was a big step – but I have no regrets.”
